Lord, today
we pray for Michoacan. There were signs
of progress and victory in this part of Mexico, but violence has erupted again.
Please be not only with President Enrique Pena Nieto, but local
officials, as they seek wisdom for how to manage such a chaotic and
inflammatory situation. Prompt them to seek guidance from you, so they can govern with Solomonic wisdom. Lord, please disrupt the work of the drug
cartel. Protect citizens and help them to not live in fear, but to develop deeply
rooted faith in you. May this region indeed become a bastion of hope, rather
than a hotbed for violence and dissension. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
